The Hagerstown Community College’s Alumni Association began in 1950 and was originally created to build relationships between current students and former graduates. The association is open to all HCC graduates interested in applying and is free to graduates for one year after graduation. The goal of the association is to improve the educational experience for students at HCC. Their activities include planning reunions, social events, an annual flower and garden show, the annual golf tournament, and an annual graduation tea. The association also supports the Alumni Scholarship Fund that provides students with scholarships to help pay for college. The association is run by a 13-member executive committee and a 42-member board of directors. In 1994 the association began construction of an amphitheater for the college as a 50th anniversary gift. The theater was dedicated on September 10, 1996 and is still in use today.
